Current ProWein Business Report - France Special

Commissioned by ProWein, Geisenheim University polled experts across the entire value chain of the wine sector from over 40 countries in late 2022 for the sixth time now. Participants include wine producers from the most important wine-growing countries in the Old and New World, exporters, importers, specialist wine dealers as well as gastronomy and hospitality representatives.

ProWein under new management

The long-standing head of Messe Düsseldorf's international contract business/Official Participations - Peter Schmitz - is to become the new Director of ProWein. For nine months, the leading international trade fair for wines and spirits had been under the provisional management of Michael Degen, Executive Director and Member of the Board of Management of Messe Düsseldorf.

ProWine Shanghai 2022 postponed to 2023

In face of the sporadic and frequent cases of COVID-19 outbreaks, following Shanghai’s epidemic prevention policy, regulations on exhibitions’ epidemic prevention and control, and in order to effectively protect the health and safety of exhibitors, visitors and partners, and ensure better exhibition effect, it was prudently decided that ProWine Shanghai 2022 will be postponed to November, 2023.

This represents a close to 20% increase in visitors compared to the last edition held in 2018.
